Tropic Thunder

What can I say except that this is a first comedy movie that has major special effects and a “more than impressive” and I don’t know how to approach it , because all its aspect were so well made. It is even hard to distinguish it from a action movie, the actors were all world rank comedians like Ben Stiller and Jack Black that made the movie such a good comedy. But on the other hand if you look at Robert Downey Jr. acting it is very impressive, even thaw its funny and hilarious his impersonation of an “Afro American” marine is very impressive. The whole movie is a blur to start with and from top to bottom its one disaster after another; from the first scene it is obvious the dualism view of the action is very good and well thought since they are making a film about another film about a book that had not a bit of reality in it. Just to show you how Hollywood acts now and that great movies don’t always have a solid story behind them. Even Nick Nolte and Tom Cruise were in the movie and played a interesting part.
Over the entire movie is all about some rich celebrities that cannot make a 3 min scene without making a deal out of something … but the director puts them to the test when they are dropped in the real jungle and left there to “thought them out”. On their journey some get caught up by some local drug lords and they have to work together to rescue a common friend, by doing so their journey teaches them how to act, and a lot of thing about themselves. You can imagine that all of the things are put into a very comical context that will keep you close to the screen until the end. The movie is a really good work piece for a comedy and you will definitely enjoy it !

Far Cry 2

After a while Ubisoft released the sequel to FarCry, and from the beginning I can tell you this is a really bad and even worst game that I could have imagine from a respectable company like ubisoft and even more for the sequel of farcry. From the start I can tell you that the only good thing about the game is its graphical engine and the way they depicted Africa, it really emerges you in an amazing world and the engine will squeeze every drop from it. But now to the downside, the storyline is close to none very little with politically-charged setting you get thrown in the middle of it and not to many things are explained, it may be due to the poor story. Also the huge traveling distances will not always be to your pleasure that being said the game gets really boring after a very short time and you will soon find yourself deleting it. My personal opinion Ubisoft screwed this up big time, what should have become a great title they rushed it into a mindless game.

Finally, finally we can say we have a King of games this game is here to show all others how to make a real game look like and feel. Bethesda Softworks really outdone themselves with the 3rd series game from Fallout we now have a Role-Playing game that is both 1st person and 3rd person view point. The main story is the same the world as we know it was bombarded by nuclear weapons and 90% of the life died as we know it, some survived in hollow bare lands while others emerged from nuclear silos only to find the world had majorly changed.

As you start you will be just a baby and quickly grow up in a series of guide missions, which is really good since it gives a more real feeling to the game. The major aspect of the game is that you will become what you do, that loosely translates in do bad thing and you’ll be bad, do good things and you’ll be good, and all the people will know of your reputation and will fear or adore you. The exceptional AI in this game makes that possible; you need to convince a NPC with your charisma you can even get lower prices for ammo, weapons, and other things or you can get specific information about a quest. The best part of the world is that you have the absolute freedom to explore what you want when you want it and how you desire it.

All the quests can be done in several manners, they will always have a peaceful resolve or a harmful one, even a sneaky resolve is possible. Also the world is beyond praise, because even the smallest detail is well done and the world and you have the immerse feeling very well draw out which gives you a feeling of apocalypse.
The world is also HUGE and you are allowed to explore anything you desire, combined with very short loading screens equals a very good environment. Also the game is taking the step always into leveling skills, and trusts me you got a huge array of those from better shooting to better handling of blunt weapons all witch will influence you in combat combined with a huge inventory of itemization and amours you will forever want to play to find something new. Also the combat system is an entire new system VATS combat system that will undoubtedly keep you on the chair playing and also on the edge while in tense situations.

This game is a wonder to play its beautiful in any way and it’s the culmination of the best that you can find now on the market. I strongly recommend this game to all players as a benchmark for all the other games that will learn from it.

Step Brothers

Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly start as 40 year old guys in the comedy Step Brothers. The movie tries to show a difficult situation in which 2 sons that are 40 years old fail to launch on their own and stick to their adolescent life’s, unemployed and pretty much a failure life. The comedy itself is very pleasant to watch and some of the parts of the movie really seem true, but yet again some are really farfetched. The enjoyable part is that the 2 actors play their part really good and from the start you will be able to see them in both their lifestyles and throw their parents acquaintance they will become step brothers. At first they are reluctant to be brothers but after a few incidents they become best friends and thus the adventure starts, that’s when you have the feeling you would like also to do some of the things they are doing and just let yourself go sometimes and be a kid again.
The movie shows a very important side also because it has a fundamental issue at hand, that of being able to do something with your life no matter how old you are , and as in the movie at the end they are able to get a job and live by their self’s . You will definitely enjoy this comedy !

Ping Pong Playa

Ethnic jokes are always used in comedy movies and this movie is no exception. It refers to a young child that wants to pursue his dream of becoming a basketball star, the only hitch is that he is Chinese and lacks the height, talent and skill. He speaks like he is a “brother” from the streets and has all the bad parts of a multicultural country, but due to a series of accidents he is being put in charge of his parents ping pong class. At first he is being very difficult with the matter but as time passes he gets attached to the children there and they start to help each other. The main plot is around a Ping Pong contest in which Cristopher, the main character will undertake to uphold the honor of the Chinese as the best ping pong players in the world. The movie is very funny throw the situations it places its main characters and throw the silly conversations that occur. It is a “light” movie enjoyable with the whole family that ultimately teaches some family values that all of us should remember, family comes first.

Burn after reading

It seems like people are fed up with a certain kind of movies, and this example is the peak of it, featuring the day to day life of some of the most bizarre people you would probably meet. It also reflects what old stupid movies did to our brain and making each individual more susceptible to some false statements. This movie is all about being at the wrong place at the wrong time, its full of miss happenings that at first seem harmless and then lead to full out disasters with no beautiful outcome.

It also reflects the problem of love and human feelings, for example the character Harry Pfarrer is pretty much a lades man although we he is married, he has a lot of adventures with other women and seems to be impregnable to any kind of feelings but as it turns out he is a normal man like any other and once he is faced himself with being cheated he crack up and shows his real face. One thing about this movie is the extraordinary cast the director managed to gather from George Clooney to Brad Pitt to Frances McDormand and a lot more other actors that are well known and you can really see some extraordinary acting.

So if you’re in the mood of something different from the normal Hollywood bunch this is your kind of movie.

X3: Terran Conflict

X3: Terran Conflict is a brand new, stand-alone game set in the universe of X3. If you not familiar with the X3 series well a short comment would be, get the game play it and see how it revolutionized the space simulators at that time. From the first one with 3D graphics X: Beyond the Frontier (1999) we got now to X3: Terran Conflict which has many features from the previous version but it complements them with the history of the solar system in the years after Kyle William Brennan’s jump into the X-Universe and the events after the end of X³: Reunion.

The key features are yet again the possibility of gathering your own small community witch in time should grow into a large space port so you can sustain a vast number of ships. Now the great thing is that you can now gather a vast armada and manage it much better throw the implementation of the “Wings” witch give you a very well made control while still enabling you to fly a ship yourself. Of course you will have a wide array of new ships from scouts to frigates and capital ones. The main role is to build your own self sustained complex of space born installations and from there the …universe is the limit.

The game shines because it gives you a ultimate freedom in building, managing and also flying your own ships , that’s why it is quite a MUST HAVE game if you enjoy a space strategy.

Journey to the Center of the Earth

A very enjoyable new movie that has been made in two parts. First one is a normal typical movie and the second is with 3D effects so if you have your 3D glasses put them on and get ready for a breathtaking adventure. The movie is as you might imagine more to the fantasy part, little can be actually true but as a Jules Verne fan I would like to think it’s possible. The movie is an easy one that can be enjoyed by the whole family and it has that special thing to it that keeps you on the edge always. It basically doesn’t allow you to get bored by it, with nonstop events that are taking place and beautiful scenery in which Brendan Fraser will always find something amusing or dangerous to do. His role is as a Professor at a University following in the footsteps of his brother Max who went missing a few years back in one of his expeditions. Many things happened and the adventure starts when Trevor, his nephew Sean and Hannah will go on a journey that might just prove to be more that they can handle.
All in all this is a very enjoyable movie and no doubt a perfect one if you have your 3D glasses ready to start you Journey to the Center of the Earth.
